Confessions of a Shopaholic

Versace for H&M
Adventures in Versaceland
Unfortunately, one half of the Golden Gun duo could not miss work so it was just one of us braving the long lines and crowded desires of fashion lovers alike. To prepare for this highly anticipated day, my alarm clock was set for 6am and I would make a 3 minute commute to the Beverly Center (btw, living this close to a mall is both a gift and a curse) and patiently wait until 8am for my adventure in Versaceland to begin. While my plan was enacted, it wasn't exactly followed the way I predicted. For one, the line I thought I would be #10ish in turned out to be #150ish. My conviction only spurred a 6am wake up call while others pitched a tent on Beverly Blvd since 5:30pm the previous day! I will admit, I did become a little worried with the fear of not getting what I had been dreaming about for the past two weeks. But, I was going to get what I came for, no matter what it would take. (insert nefarious laugh here)

To make a touting tale of fashion takeover short, I was eventually given a wristband that told me what time I would be able to shop the collection. By then, it was 8am. The time on the wristband read 12:45pm. REALLY?? After going home and coming back and not seeing nearly as much glory as when H&M first opened, I was still able to score three out of the four pieces I wanted! It took a little beeline maneuvering, the stalking of unconvincing shoppers, and the breaking of a few rules but I was able to come home with the baby I had been laboriously awaiting. Aside from the fight in the men's section (freakin' hilarious), I would say this was a pretty calm frenzy of fashionistas. Needless to say, the collection was as if it was never there by the next day. Let's see what happens when the almighty Karl Lagerfield makes his debut for H&M! POW!

The BEST of the Best
Top 5 picks from the women's collection after seeing and believing:
5. The black suede and patent boots were better looking in person. Great heel height and the gold accent on the tie up adds color. Love the pointy toe, too! A good bang for $129 bucks!

4. The long sleeve silk dress appears print-busy but is actually print-rich and fits like a glove. The open back and red patent detail shoulder is designed masterfully. Very sexy.

3. This jacket is iconic Versace. The colors and the feel are warm and inviting. So much so, that it invited me to come and purchase. A must-have!

2. This silver metallic dress still glistens in my heart. A beauty to behold but I couldn't get my hands on it! :(

1. This was a hard choice. The runner up was the black leather dress with gold rivets--absolutely amazing! But, the black leather trench coat with gold rivet detail was PERFECTION! I didn't even know there was a trench in the collection. WINNER WINNER!

The Runner Up:

The Winner!!!:
